Environmental efforts

We would like to introduce some of the environmental initiatives that we are currently taking at our company.

Unofu is currently participating in Toyooka City's environmental economic projects and has received certification.

Toyooka City's environmental economic projects aim to create a "city where the environment and the economy are in harmony," and have established a certification system to promote projects that pursue profits and improve the environment.

Uno Fuku Co., Ltd. manufactures and sells bags, pouches, and wallets using environmentally friendly materials in order to fulfill its "responsible consumption and production" policy of using materials to ensure sustainable production and consumption patterns, and has been certified for promoting an environment that is friendly to living things.

In the actual commercial bags,

- Uses "vintage taffeta" made from nylon thread recycled from textile waste.

- The synthetic leather "Forte" is produced using a manufacturing method that reduces factory CO2 emissions by 70% compared to conventional methods.

- The interior is made of fabric made from polyester fibers recycled from used PET bottles and other materials.

- Recycled fibers are made from collected PET bottle containers, which are washed, crushed, and spun into yarn.

- By turning hides, which are one of the by-products left over from the production of beef and pork that we "eat," into leather, we can make effective use of them without waste, making them an eco-friendly and sustainable natural material, which leads to reduced waste.

We use environmentally friendly and ethical materials such as:

In this way, we proactively adopt materials with low environmental impact as recognized by the certified business, and we are working towards the goal of launching one series of products using environmentally friendly materials for each season, and having a share of 70% or more of the products we handle by 2030.

In addition to product development, we have completed the installation of an 83.6kw solar power generation system at our Toyooka headquarters, contributing to clean energy in our business environment.

In addition, from 2022, all scrapped company cars will be responsibly handed over to recycling companies.

We have also been certified as a Hyogo Industry SDGs Promotion Declaration Project. Hyogo Prefecture will raise awareness of the SDGs among small and medium-sized enterprises in the prefecture, and will support the efforts of these companies by registering and consolidating the declarations of small and medium-sized enterprises working toward achieving the SDGs and publicizing them to the public.

As a century-old company, Unofu will continue to pursue sustainability and will work toward the SDGs as a mid-term management strategy through to 2030 to promote and realize sustainability as a global citizen.
